West Liberty Men Steamroll W.Va. State

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's tennis team turned in another dominating performance Wednesday afternoon, rolling to a 9-0 shutout of West Virginia State in a Mountain East Conference match at the Edgar Martin Tennis Complex.
Coach Sam McCullough's league-leading Hilltoppers (9-3, 3-0) breezed to three easy wins in doubles play before sweeping all six singles matches in straight sets from the Yellow Jackets (1-6, 0-4).
Andy Ponder and Santiago Gutierrez didn't lose a game in posting an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles and following that up with identical 6-0 6-0 victories in their singles matches.
Luke Flanagan and Hayden Blazer coasted to an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles and also chalked up straight set wins in their singles matches.
West Liberty's final point of the afternoon came from Pablo Cimorra and Matt Tully, who notched an 8-0 triumph at No. 2 doubles.
The Hilltoppers step out of conference play on Friday with a 3 p.m. match at Cedarville (Ohio).
