WLU Volleyball Draws No. 5 Seed in Tournament

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's volleyball team has earned the No. 5 seed in the Mountain East Conference Tournament, which gets under way Thursday afternoon in the McDonough Center at Wheeling Jesuit University.
Coach Kayla Mull's Hilltoppers (22-13) finished tied for fourth place with Urbana in the final MEC standings and will take on the Blue Knights in quarterfinal action at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Tournament action begins at noon with No. 3 seed Fairmont State going up against No. 6 seed Concord. That will be followed by a 2:30 p.m. quarterfinal between No. 2 seed Charleston and No. 7 seed Notre Dame.
West Liberty and Urbana play at 5 p.m. with top-seeded and defending tournament champion Wheeling Jesuit hosting No. 8 seed UVa-Wise in the 7:30 p.m. match.
Semifinals are set for Friday at 5 and 7:30 p.m. with the MEC Tournament championship match to be played on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
