West Liberty Volleyball Beats Big Blues

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's volleyball team rolled to a 3-0 sweep of Bluefield State Tuesday night in a non-conference match at the ASRC.
Coach Kayla Fetsko-Mull's Hilltoppers (13-9) took command early with a 25-13 romp in the opening set and never looked back, handing the Big Blues (7-8) a 25-19 loss in the second set and closing up shop with a 25-14 blowout.
Raimey Benson led all players with 11 kills for the Hilltoppers while Amanda Leonard posted a double-double with 10 kills and 20 assists. Caitlin Clarke had a strong showing with 9 kills, 9 digs and a pair of service aces while Olivia Baumhoer chipped in with 9 kills and 2 blocks.
Sydney Scherer led all players with 5 blocks while Miranda Garmenn added 18 assists and Kailee Cunningham had a match-high 18 digs.
The Black and Gold remain at home for a busy weekend with a 7 p.m. match against Fairmont State on Friday followed by a 1 p.m. match against Shepherd on Saturday.
