West Liberty Volleyball Sweeps MEC Doubleheader

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's volleyball team swept a Mountain East Conference doubleheader at the ASRC Friday night, rolling to a pair of 3-0 wins against Glenville State and West Virginia Wesleyan.
In the opener, Coach Kayla Fetsko-Mull's Hilltoppers (16-11, 4-5) had no trouble keeping the Pioneers (1-20, 0-5) winless in MEC action, reeling off three straight wins by scores of 25-14, 25-9 and 25-17. 
Olivia Baumhoer had 7 kills while Sydney Scherer and Amanda Leonard added 6 each. Miranda Garmenn had a strong match with 19 assists, 6 service aces and 5 digs while Kailee Cunningham weighed in with 15 digs.
The Bobcats (6-14, 2-5) put up more of a fight in the second half of the twinbill but ultimately suffered the same fate with WLU taking three in a row by scores of 25-16, 25-22 and 25-20.
Stephanie Leonard had 9 kills, 6 blocks and a team-high 16 digs while twin sister Amanda Leonard had a double-double with 16 assists and 11 digs to go along with 5 kills. Raimey Benson added 9 kills and a pair of blocks while Baumhoer and Caitlin Clarke each had 6 kills with Baumhoer also picking up 6 blocks and Clarke collecting 15 digs. 
Scherer finished with 5 kills and led all players with 8 blocks. Garmenn led the Hilltoppers with 18 assists while Cunningham matched Stephanie Leonard with 16 digs.
