Box Score WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The surging West Liberty University volleyball team posted its fifth straight win hereSaturday, holding off a stubborn Notre Dame (Ohio) squad to pull out a hard-earned 3-2 nod.
Coach Kayla Fetsko-Mull's Hilltoppers (8-8, 2-0) won the first set, 25-20, only to see the Falcons (1-10, 0-2) come back with a 25-18 win in the second set. West Liberty took the third set, 25-19, but Notre Dame forced the match into a fifth set with a 25-20 win. The hosts closed out the win with a 15-12 verdict in the final set.
West Liberty steps out of Mountain East Conference action on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. match at Carlow College in Pittsburgh.
