Box Score 1 | Box Score 2  WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The resurgent West Liberty University softball team upped its winning streak to four games on Saturday with a doubleheader sweep of Urbana in Mountain East Conference action at the WLU Softball Complex.
   Coach Jim Bacca's Hilltoppers (12-22, 4-10) handed the Blue Knights (7-24, 2-10) a 1-0 setback in the opener before hammering out an 11-9 decision in the nightcap.
   In the first game, Paula Creamer fired a four-hit shutout to key the Hilltopper win. Creamer struck out four, walked three and stranded the tying run on third in three separate innings.
   West Liberty scored the game's only run in the bottom of the second when Nicki Mihalik sprinted home from second base on an outfield error. Damia Mogielski and Nicole Chris each had a pair of singles for the Black and Gold.
   Urbana jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the second game but it proved to be a short-lived advantage as the Hilltoppers exploded for 10 runs in the bottom of the second to go ahead to stay.
   The Blue Knights closed the gap to 11-9 in the top of the sixth and had the tying runs on base with no one out only to see winning pitcher Savana Sieger fan the next two batters and retire the third on a popup to end the threat. The visitors loaded the bases in the top of the seventh but Sieger was able to slam the door and preserve the win.
   Charley Troggio keyed a 10-hit WLU barrage with a home run and a single to drive in three runs. Kylee Ensign had a single and a double while Kaitlyn Higginbotham doubled and finished with four RBIs. Nicole Chris doubled home a pair of runs, Kelsi Johnson added an RBI single and Sieger helped her own cause with a double.
   The Hilltoppers return to the WLU Softball Complex on Sunday for a 1 p.m. twinbill against Notre Dame (Ohio).
