Box Score FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The West Liberty University volleyball team got off to a good start here Friday night but couldn't maintain the momentum as Fairmont State rallied to a 3-1 win at Joe Retton Arena.
Coach Kayla Fetsko-Mull's Hilltoppers (9-11, 2-3) were threatening to hand the Falcons (13-5, 5-0) their first Mountain East Conference loss of the season when the Black and Gold opened with a convincing 25-20 win in the first set.
The hosts got back in the match by pulling out a crucial 25-23 decision in the second set and went on to close out the win by scores of 25-16 and 25-21.
The West Liberty women head to the Eastern Panhandle on Saturday for a 1 p.m. match at Shepherd.
