Box Score WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's volleyball team put up a good fight but it wasn't enough Tuesday night as No. 6-ranked Wheeling Jesuit rolled to its 19th straight victory, claiming a 3-0 decision in Mountain East Conference action at the ASRC.
Coach Kayla Fetsko-Mull's Hilltoppers (12-15, 5-6) came out on the short end of a 25-15 count in the opening set and the Cardinals (24-3, 11-0) followed that up with a 25-18 nod in the second set. The third set was the best of the match with Wheeling Jesuit holding on for a 25-22 victory to close out the match.
Wheeling Jesuit has not lost a set in Mountain East Conference play this year. The 25-22 score in the third set was the Cardinals' smallest margin of victory in an MEC match all season.
The Hilltoppers head south on Friday for a 7 p.m. match at Concord.
