Third Straight Win for West Liberty Women

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University volleyball team rolled to its third straight win Tuesday night, handing winless Salem International a 3-1 loss in a non-conference match at the ASRC.

After splitting the first two sets, Coach Kayla Fetsko's Lady Hilltoppers (4-8) swept the final two by scores of 25-14 and 25-18 to hand the visitors from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference their eighth loss in as many outings.

Alexis Boyd led the Black and Gold with 17 kills, 11 digs, 2 service aces and 3 blocks while Nicole Sadecky added a dozen kills and 13 blocks. Sydney Scherer had a huge match with 8 kills and a team season-high 11 blocks. Megan Lawless had a double-double with 25 assists and 12 digs while Chelsea Byrge also had a double-double with 16 assists and 13 digs. Courtney Pyeritz led all players with 31 digs.

The West Liberty women head to Pittsburgh on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. match at Point Park.
