Tough Loss for Hilltopper Spikers

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The West Liberty University women's volleyball team came out on the short end of three tightly-played sets here Tuesday night in a tough non-conference loss at Slippery Rock.

Coach Kayla Fetsko's hard-luck Hilltoppers (1-8) fell by scores of 25-21, 29-27 and 25-23 against the host Rock (6-2).

Alexis Boyd led West Liberty with a match-high 13 kills and 17 digs. Peyton Miller and Chelsea Bertie added 7 kills each while Chelsea Byrge had 3 service aces to go along with a double-double of 32 assists and 11 digs. Courtney Pyeritz led all players with 23 digs.

West Liberty returns home to host West Virginia State Friday at 7 p.m.
