Lady Hilltoppers Fall to Unbeaten Gannon

ERIE, Pa. – The West Liberty University women's volleyball team were swept in a pair of matches here Saturday as the MEC/PSAC Crossover Tournament wrapped up at Gannon University.
Coach Kayla Fetsko's Hilltoppers (1-7) opened the day with a 3-0 loss to Edinboro (5-2) before coming up short by the same count against unbeaten Gannon (7-0) in the finale.
Chelsea Bertie had 6 kills and a pair of service aces in the opener against Edinboro while Nicole Sadecky was charted with 6 kills and 10 digs. Chelsea Byrge led West Liberty with a dozen assists while Courtney Pyeritz led all players with 20 digs.
Sadecky led the way in the Gannon match with 8 kills and 11 digs. Byrge had 17 assists and Pyeritz finished with 23 digs.
West Liberty faces another PSAC foe on Tuesday when the Hilltoppers travel to Slippery Rock for a 7 p.m. match.
