WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's tennis team opened its season in impressive fashion Wednesday afternoon, breezing to a 7-2 win against Grove City at the Edgar Martin Tennis Complex.
    Coach Sam McCullough's Hilltoppers won five of the six singles matches and claimed the top two doubles matches en route to the easy victory.
    Santiago Gutierrez, Pablo Cimorra, Matt Tully, Alex Hayden and Luke Flanagan all posted straight-set wins in singles action. Gutierrez and Cimorra teamed up for an 8-0 romp at No. 1 doubles while Hayden and Tully combined for the win at No. 2 doubles.
    The West Liberty men will be back in action this weekend when they host the Topper Classic on Friday and Saturday.
