Box Score 2 CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The red-hot Cedarville University pitching staff held visiting West Liberty to just three hits all afternoon in sweeping a non-conference doubleheader by scores of 9-1 and 13-1.
West Liberty (7-26) jumped out to an early lead in the opener when Damia Mogielski came through with a two-out RBI double in the top of the second. Jenn Young carried that 1-0 lead into the fourth only to see the Yellow Jackets (20-9) explode for nine runs over the final three innings to close out the win.
Cedarville controlled the second game from the start, taking advantage of six WLU walks to score four runs in the first inning and six more in the second in stretching its winning streak to seven games.
Taylor Zeiger beat out an infield single in the top of the fifth, driving in the Hilltoppers' lone run with their only hit of the game. West Liberty returns home to host perennial Atlantic Region power California (Pa.) in a 3 p.m. doubleheader on Wednesday.
