Box Score 2 BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The West Liberty University softball team dropped both ends of a Mountain East Conference twinbill here Sunday, falling by scores of 11-0 and 7-4 as league-leading West Virginia Wesleyan stretched its winning streak to 11 games.
The Hilltoppers (7-24, 0-14) couldn't get anything going in the opener as the Bobcats (26-6, 11-1) scored in every inning while ace Jessica Griffin hurled a 5-inning no-hitter.
West Liberty made things interesting in the second game when Emily Harvey's 3-run home run cut Wesleyan's lead to 5-4 in the top of the sixth. The Bobcats plated two insurance runs in the bottom of the frame and held WLU off the board in the seventh to complete the sweep. Harvey had a big game, driving in four runs with a single and double to go along with her circuit blast. Jenn Young added a double and a single while Julianne Wanda also had a pair of hits. SOFTBALL
