ERIE, Pa. – The West Liberty University men's tennis team couldn't get anything going on Saturday and dropped a 9-0 decision to Edinboro (Pa.) in an early-season matchup of regionally-ranked squads at the Westwood Racquet Club.
Coach
Sam McCullough's Hilltoppers (1-1) came into the match as the 6
th-ranked team in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Atlantic Region rankings but the host Fighting Scots (3-2) – ranked No. 7 in the region – pulled out a 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles to complete a sweep of the three doubles matches and never looked back.
West Liberty will return to the Westwood Racquet Club on Sunday for a 1 p.m. match against Mercyhurst.
