CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to the University of Charleston Friday night at Eddie King Gym.
Coach Kayla Fetsko's Hilltoppers (5-8, 0-2) battled the Golden Eagles (10-3, 1-0) to the wire and beyond in the first game only to come out on the short end of a 26-24 tally. The hosts took the next two games by scores of 25-12 and 25-19 to finish off the sweep.
Chelsie Bertie had a big game in a losing cause for WLU with a match-high 15 kills to go along with 10 digs and a blocked shot. Chelsea Byrge and Brittany Albanese finished with 16 and 12 assists, respectively, while Nicole Sadecky added a dozen digs.
The West Liberty women will be back in action Saturday morning with an 11 a.m. match at West Virginia State.
