Box Score WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's volleyball team clinched home court advantage in the opening round of this week's Mountain East Conference playoffs on Saturday with an impressive 3-0 blanking of Shepherd in a mutual regular-season finale at the ASRC.
Coach Kayla Fetsko's Lady Hilltoppers (12-18, 7-9) will host a first-round match on the same floor Tuesday at 7 p.m. WLU's opponent will be announced later this weekend.
West Liberty jumped out early on the visiting Rams (13-16, 8-8) on Saturday, leading virtually wire-to-wire in taking the first two sets by scores of 25-19 and 25-23.
Shepherd bounced back with a strong effort in the third set only to see the Hilltoppers come roaring back from a 23-19 deficit to close out the sweep with a 26-24 win.
