Box Score WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's volleyball team ran into a buzzsaw Tuesday night as powerful Fairmont State rolled to a 3-0 win in Mountain East Conference action at the ASRC.
Coach
Kayla Fetsko's Hilltoppers (11-18, 6-9) battled the Falcons (25-5, 13-2) on virtually even terms for much of the opening set before Fairmont pulled away to a 25-17 win. The Falcons wasted little time wrapping up the sweep, taking the next two sets by scores of 25-7 and 25-13.
Paige Warner led West Liberty with 6 kills and a block while
Nicole Sadecky added 3 kills, a block and a dozen digs.
Chelsea Byrge had a team-high 12 assists and
Courtney Pyeritz paced the Black and Gold with 15 digs.
The Hilltoppers close out the regular season at home on Saturday when Shepherd comes to the ASRC for an 11 a.m. match.
