WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's volleyball team celebrated Senior Day on Saturday with a 3-1 romp past Notre Dame (Ohio) in a Mountain East Conference match at the ASRC.
After splitting the first two sets, Coach Kayla Fetsko's Hilltoppers (10-14, 5-5) rolled to wins of 25-19 and 25-22 in the next two sets to close out the Falcons (3-21, 1-9).
West Liberty seniors Rachel Zeigler and Emily Mellie were honored prior to the match and both veterans responded with memorable performances.
Zeigler hammered down a WLU season-high 18 kills while Mellie added 9 kills and 4 blocks as the Hilltoppers notched their second win in as many days after handling Urbana on Friday night.
The West Liberty women will try to continue their climb up the MEC ladder on Friday with a 7 p.m. match at Virginia-Wise.
