Box Score WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – West Liberty used a fast start and a strong finish to hand Urbana a 3-2 loss in Mountain East Conference volleyball action Friday night at the ASRC.
Coach Kayla Fetsko's Hilltoppers (9-14, 4-5) nearly wrapped things up in straight sets.
After WLU swept the first two sets, the third set went into overtime with the Blue Knights (7-14, 3-6) pulling out a 26-24 nod to keep the match going. The visitors then evened the count with a 25-11 romp in the fourth set only to see the Black and Gold dominate the tiebreaker, 15-7, to close out the win.
West Liberty will be back in action on Saturday when the Hilltoppers host Notre Dame (Ohio) in a 1 p.m. Senior Day match at the ASRC.
