Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – West Liberty dropped a 3-1 decision to Shepherd here Saturday afternoon in Mountain East Conference volleyball action at the Butcher Center.
Coach
Kayla Fetsko's Hilltoppers (7-12, 2-4) came out on the short end of 25-23 and 25-20 counts in the first two sets before getting back in the match with a 25-15 romp in the third set. The host Rams (10-8, 5-2) were able to close out the match with a hard-fought 25-20 decision in the fourth set.
Chelsea Bertie led West Liberty with 11 kills, 2 blocks and a service ace with
Rachel Zeigler adding 9 kills.
Nicole Sadecky had a solid match with 8 kills, 2 aces, a block and 11 digs while
Chelsea Byrge stuffed the stat sheet with 3 kills, 4 aces, a block, 24 assists and 10 digs.
Courtney Pyeritz chipped in with a team-high 19 digs.
The Hilltoppers will host West Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesday in a 7 p.m. match at the ASRC.
