Paige Petroval banged home a pair of goals and
Rachel Coles came up with 10 saves in net here Friday afternoon as the West Liberty University women's soccer team earned its first West Virginia Conference win, downing Ohio Valley by a 3-1 count on the Fighting Scots' home pitch.

Barry Christmas's Hilltoppers (2-4, 1-2) fell behind early when Ohio Valley (1-3, 0-1) got a goal from Victoria Bruce in the eighth minute but Coles slammed the door on the hosts for the final 82 minutes.
Madalyn Bodnar set up the equalizer for West Liberty in the 33rd minute when she sent a long ball over the top to
Megan Minsker, who tucked it inside the far left post to pull the visitors even.
Petroval put the Hilltoppers up, 2-1, heading into halftime when she ripped a free kick into the top left corner of the net in the 36th minute.
The Fighting Scots maintained good offensive pressure throughout the second half but the only goal in the final 45 minutes was provided by West Liberty's Petroval, who cashed in a penalty kick in the 52nd minute to create a little extra breathing room.
The Lady Hilltoppers return to action on Sept. 22 with a 6 p.m. match at Charleston.
