WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University volleyball team closed out the regular season Wednesday night with a 3-0 loss to NAIA powerhouse Point Park (Pa.) at the ASRC.
The Pioneers (32-5) jumped on top early with a 25-11 win in the opening game and quickly closed out the sweep with 25-14 and 25-17 decisions.
Coach Brooke Turner's Hilltoppers (9-17) got 3 kills and 5 digs from
Melissa Pierzchala while
Alexandra Kowalski also had 3 kills and
Anne Edwards added a pair of kills and 3 blocks.
Chelsea Byrge and
Gabbie Davis finished with 5 and 4 assists, respectively, with
Haylee Strause turning in a team-high 8 digs.
West Liberty will be idle this weekend as the Hilltoppers prepare for next week's WVIAC Championship Tournament, which gets under way on Nov. 10 in Charleston.
