WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to defending West Virginia Conference champion Wheeling Jesuit at the ASRC.
Coach Brooke Turner's Hilltoppers (6-10, 3-4) put up a good fight against the league-leading Cardinals (15-3, 7-0) but came out on the short end of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-19 scores.
Emily Mellie led West Liberty with 7 kills.
Anne Edwards had 6 kills and 3 blocks while
Melissa Pierzchala added 6 kills and 7 digs.
Chelsea Byrge led the Hilltoppers with 8 assists.
The Hilltoppers hit the road on Saturday for a triangular against Glenville State and Shaw (N.C.) at Glenville State.
