PHILIPPI, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's volleyball team came up short on the road Thursday night, dropping a 3-0 decision to Alderson-Broaddus in a West Virginia Conference match at Rex Pyles Arena.
Coach Brooke Turner's Hilltoppers (7-11, 3-5) lost the first two games by scores of 25-19 and 25-18 to fall into an early hole. They battled the host Battlers (9-15, 4-3) to the wire in Game Three only to come away on the short end of a 26-24 tally.
Melissa Pierzchala paced WLU with 10 kills while
Anne Edwards added 6 kills and 3 blocks.
Chelsea Byrge led the squad with 7 assists and 10 digs while
Haylee Strause also was charted with 10 digs.
The Hilltoppers will be idle this weekend before returning to action on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. match at Seton Hill.
