MATCH STATS
WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University volleyball team closed out the regular season in impressive fashion Wednesday night by rolling to a 3-1 victory against Davis & Elkins in a make-up match at the ASRC.
Junior standout Melissa Pierzchala led the way for Coach Brooke Turner's Hilltoppers (12-16, 6-8) with one of her best performances of the season. The three-year starter hammered down a season-high 21 kills and also delivered 14 digs. She led all players with 2 service aces and was charted with one of West Liberty's four blocks at the net.
Anne Edwards backed Pierzchala against the Senators (11-21, 3-8) with a dozen kills while Abby McCreery had 25 assists and Jennifer Torrence had 18 digs. Brittany Albanese also had a strong match with 22 assists and 8 digs.
The Hilltoppers will be idle this weekend as they prepare to compete in next week's WVIAC championship tournament in Charleston.
