WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University volleyball team battled Fairmont State to the wire only to drop three close games Tuesday night as the Falcons escaped the ASRC with a 3-0 victory.
Coach Brooke Turner's Hilltoppers (8-12, 2-6) absorbed a frustrating three-game sweep at the hands of the Falcons (14-6, 7-2) by scores of 27-25, 25-22 and 25-23.
Anne Edwards had 9 kills for West Liberty while Melissa Pierzchala and Rachel Ziegler added 8 each. Abby McCreery had 17 assists while Jennifer Torrence led the team with 11 digs.
The Hilltoppers will host Seton Hill Friday in a 7 p.m. match at the ASRC.
