Associate head coach Cassie Seth begins her 10th season with the West Liberty University women’s basketball program as a key member of head coach Kyle Cooper’s staff. In addition to her coaching duties, Seth serves as the university’s Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) and Athletics Diversity and Inclusion Designee (ADID).

As ADID, Seth serves as West Liberty’s primary contact for sharing diversity and inclusion-related information from the NCAA and Mountain East Conference with the university’s nearly 500 student-athletes.

The 2025-26 campaign featured record-setting individual performances and continued academic success for the Hilltoppers. Guard Olivia Baker led NCAA Division II with 88 3-pointers made, averaging 13.8 points per game to earn Second Team All-MEC recognition. Baker also received College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors for the second consecutive year and was selected as an Academic All-America finalist.

Senior guard Anna Lucarelli also earned Second Team All-MEC honors after averaging 16.4 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. A three-time CSC Academic All-District selection, Lucarelli surpassed 300 career assists during her senior campaign while providing leadership and versatility on both ends of the floor.

West Liberty continued its tradition of academic excellence in 2025-26, posting a 3.591 team GPA to earn Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Special Mention recognition. The Hilltoppers were the highest-ranked Mountain East Conference program recognized by the WBCA. The honor marked the program’s 11th WBCA academic recognition since the 2001-02 season and its third consecutive year receiving national recognition. Eight of those recognitions have come during Cooper’s nine completed seasons as head coach.

Baker, Lucarelli and Ana-Isabel Andersson also earned CSC Academic All-District recognition in 2026, further demonstrating the program’s commitment to excellence in the classroom.

Other highlights during Seth’s tenure on the hilltop include a pair of 21-win campaigns and a 2018-19 NCAA Tournament appearance. The 2022-23 Hilltoppers finished 17-12 overall and 15-7 in the Mountain East Conference, securing a winning season and their second consecutive season with at least 15 conference victories. West Liberty finished fifth in the league standings before falling to Fairmont State in the MEC Tournament quarterfinals.

During the 2022-23 season, West Liberty’s high-powered offense ranked among the top 10 nationally in five NCAA Division II statistical categories, including second in assists per game and 3-point field goal percentage. The Hilltoppers also ranked among the nation’s top 10 in 3-point field goals per game, scoring offense and field goal percentage. Arriana Manzay earned First Team All-MEC honors, while Karly McCutcheon was named Second Team All-MEC.

Seth came to West Liberty following a successful season as an assistant coach at NCAA Division III Baldwin Wallace University. Working under Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame head coach Cheri Harrer, Seth helped lead the Yellow Jackets to a 21-5 record and a runner-up finish in the Ohio Athletic Conference.

Before entering the collegiate coaching ranks at Baldwin Wallace, Seth spent seven years as a high school head coach in the Cleveland area. She guided Medina Highland to its first-ever OHSAA Division I tournament victory before moving to Parma High School, where she became the first coach in more than two decades to record double-digit wins in consecutive seasons.

During her high school coaching career, Seth developed 32 all-conference players, five all-district selections and one conference player of the year. She was selected to coach in the 2010 Medina County All-Star Game and the 2016 Greater Cleveland Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game.

A native of Waterford, Pa., Seth was a four-year standout and 1,000-point scorer at Mercyhurst (Pa.). A three-year team captain and All-GLIAC honoree, she finished her playing career ranked among the Lakers’ top 10 all-time in points and steals. She also excelled academically, earning Dean’s List recognition twice and a place on the GLIAC All-Academic Team.
