Brock Thumm

Brock Thumm has joined Coach Justin Simpson’s track and field staff as a graduate assistant coach for the 2020-21 season after working as a graduate assistant with West Liberty’s nationally-ranked wrestling program a year ago.
The transition will be an easy one for Thumm, who was a multi-sport standout during his high school days at Watervliet (Mich.) High School. A 9-time all-stater in track and field and cross country, he was a state 200-meter champion in track and a 2-time state wrestling champion.
Opting to wrestle at the collegiate level, Thumm excelled on the mat and in the classroom at NCAA Division II Chadron State (Neb.) College where he was a 4-year letterman and 2-year starter. He led the Eagles with 37 takedowns as a junior and was a regional runner-up and NCAA Division II national qualifier at 141 pounds.
The son of Michael and Tonya Thumm, Brock graduated from Chadron State with a Secondary Education degree. He is in the process of completing his master's in Educational Leadership at West Liberty.
