Robb Bauer

   Former West Liberty University standout Robb Bauer is back for his third season as a volunteer assistant coach on Coach Eric Burkle’s staff with the WLU baseball program.
    After earning honorable mention All-State honors as a senior at Wheeling Park High School, Bauer was a four-year letterman as a catcher for the Hilltoppers from 1988-92. He played on three West Virginia Conference championship squads and was a member of West Liberty’s 1990 NAIA World Series team.
    A team captain as a senior, Bauer coached the Wheeling-based Mountaineer Palomino program from 1990-96 and also served as a West Liberty assistant under Hall of Famer Bo McConnaughy from 1992-96. He also had a 5-year stint as assistant baseball coach at Wheeling Park High School from 2006-10.
    Coach Bauer graduated from West Liberty with an Education degree in 1992 and also holds a Master’s Degree in Administration (Principal and Supervision) from Salem International University.
    A Physical Education instructor with the Ohio County Schools, Bauer lives in Wheeling with his wife, Kathy, and their children, Bryce and Faith.
