FROSTBURG, Md. — The West Liberty University women's soccer team will look to build on its first victory of the season Wednesday when the Hilltoppers travel to Frostburg State University for a Mountain East Conference North Division matchup.
Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. at Bobcat Field.

West Liberty enters Wednesday's match at 1-3-1 overall and 1-2 in MEC play after earning a 2-0 road victory at Wheeling on Sunday. The Hilltoppers opened conference play with a 0-0 draw at Malone before dropping matches to Fairmont State and Point Park, but Sunday's clean sheet gave West Liberty some positive momentum heading into the trip to Frostburg.

Sophomore Kylie Collins has provided the Hilltoppers' offensive spark through the opening five matches. Collins leads the team with two goals and four points while also pacing West Liberty with nine shots and six shots on goal. Ana Conejo Perez and Corinne Westbrook have each added an assist.

Defensively, goalkeeper Kaisa Vale has played all 450 minutes for the Hilltoppers, recording 27 saves, a .818 save percentage and two shutouts. West Liberty has allowed six goals through five matches.

The Hilltoppers have shown an ability to create opportunities from set pieces as well, entering Wednesday with 28 corner kicks, just two fewer than Frostburg State despite the Bobcats having played the same number of matches.
Bobcats Enter With 3-1-1 Record

Frostburg State comes into the matchup at 3-1-1 overall and 2-0-1 in MEC play, placing the Bobcats second in the North Division behind Fairmont State. Frostburg has won two of its last three matches, including a 3-0 victory at Wheeling, before playing Fairmont State to a scoreless draw Sunday.

The Bobcats have been one of the conference's most active offensive teams early in the season, recording 98 shots through five matches — an average of 19.6 per game — while scoring nine goals. Frostburg has limited opponents to just 45 shots and two goals.

Mollie Rebuck leads the Bobcats with 19 shots while Cassidy Paige and Rayiah Davis have each scored twice. Paige also has two assists for a team-high six points, while Davis has five points on two goals and an assist.

Frostburg has also been particularly stingy defensively. Goalkeeper Mia Graff has played 315 minutes without allowing a goal, making nine saves while posting a perfect 1.000 save percentage. The Bobcats have recorded three shutouts as a team and have allowed only two goals all season.

Wednesday's match will be the first meeting between the teams this season, with the Bobcats scheduled to make the return trip to West Liberty on Oct. 14.

Frostburg State has won the last four meetings, including a pair of victories in 2025. The Bobcats posted a 6-0 victory in Frostburg last September before earning a 2-0 win at the West Family Athletic Complex in October. West Liberty's most recent result against Frostburg came in 2023, when the teams played to a 2-2 draw on Senior Day.

The Hilltoppers will be looking to turn Sunday's victory into another strong defensive performance while finding a way to generate more offensive pressure against a Frostburg team that has surrendered just two goals in five matches.
