WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's soccer team climbed three spots to No. 4 in the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Atlantic Region rankings, released Tuesday, while also receiving votes in the national poll.

The Hilltoppers moved up from No. 7 in last week's Atlantic Region rankings following a strong start to the 2026 season. West Liberty is one of seven Mountain East Conference teams represented among the region's top 10.

University of Charleston remained No. 1 in the Atlantic Region and moved up to No. 7 in the national rankings. Davis & Elkins is No. 2 regionally and No. 15 nationally, while Frostburg State sits at No. 3 in the Atlantic Region and No. 23 nationally.
West Liberty is followed by Millersville at No. 5, Gannon at No. 6, Concord at No. 7, Shepherd at No. 8, Bloomsburg at No. 9 and Seton Hill at No. 10.

The Hilltoppers also received votes in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II national poll, putting West Liberty among the teams receiving consideration for the national Top 25. Charleston, Davis & Elkins and Frostburg State are the three Atlantic Region teams currently ranked nationally.

The latest rankings reflect results through Sept. 13.

West Liberty opened the season ranked No. 7 in the Atlantic Region in the Sept. 8 poll. The Hilltoppers were listed behind Charleston, Frostburg State, Davis & Elkins, Gannon, Bloomsburg and Millersville.

The move to No. 4 marks the Hilltoppers' highest regional ranking of the season to date and places them behind only Charleston, Davis & Elkins and Frostburg State.

West Liberty is scheduled to return to action Wednesday at Frostburg State in a matchup between two of the Atlantic Region's top four teams. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Bobcat Field in Frostburg, Md.
