West Libertry, W.Va. - Sophomore
Lance Busse led the West Liberty men's cross country team to a runner-up finish at Saturday's Bethany Invitational, turning in a fourth-place individual performance in the 8K.
Busse crossed the finish line in 29:25.0, leading a group of four Hilltoppers who finished among the top 10. His performance helped West Liberty score 52 points, just six behind team champion St. Vincent (Pa.).
Busse was also the first Hilltopper across the line as West Liberty placed four runners within the top 10 and posted a team average of 30:03.9.
The Nitro, W.Va., native returns to action with the Hilltoppers on Sept. 25 when West Liberty travels to Winston-Salem, N.C., for the Atlantic Region Preview Meet at the Ivey Redmon Sports Complex.
