West Liberty Track & Field Teams Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

West Liberty, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's and women's track and field teams were recognized Wednesday for their excellence in the classroom as both programs earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team honors for the 2025-26 season.

The Hilltopper women posted a 3.58 cumulative team GPA, while the men's team recorded a 3.02 GPA to secure the national academic distinction. To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors, NCAA Division II programs must maintain a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.00.

In addition to the team awards, five Hilltoppers earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete recognition for their achievements both in competition and in the classroom. Representing the West Liberty men's team were Robert Allen, a sports management major; Timber Huysmans, who is pursuing his MBA; Francis Toohey, a health and exercise education major; and Zachary Workman, an exercise physiology major.

On the women's side, Ky'Ara Ross, a criminal justice major, earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete honors.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete recognition, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 while meeting one of the organization's competitive standards during the indoor or outdoor track and field season, including participation at the NCAA Division II Championships or ranking among the nation's top performers in an individual event.
