WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's soccer team has announced its schedule for the 2026 season as the Hilltoppers look to continue their success under head coach Pete McMenemy.
McMenemy enters his fourth season leading the program after guiding West Liberty to three consecutive Mountain East Conference Tournament appearances during his first three years on the hilltop. The Hilltoppers will once again face a challenging slate featuring 18 regular-season matches, including 16 Mountain East Conference contests.
The 2026 campaign begins with a pair of non-conference road matches. West Liberty opens the season on Aug. 27 at D'Youville before traveling to Malone on Sept. 2. Conference play begins on Sept. 6 when the Hilltoppers travel to Fairmont State before returning home for their conference home opener against Point Park on Sept. 9 at the West Family Athletic Complex. West Liberty remains on the road for matches at Wheeling (Sept. 13) and Frostburg State (Sept. 16) before returning home to host Davis & Elkins on Sept. 20. The Hilltoppers then head to Charleston on Sept. 23 before closing out the month with a home MEC matchup against Shawnee State on Sept. 27 and another conference home contest against Glenville State on Sept. 30.
October features several critical conference matches as West Liberty travels to West Virginia State on Oct. 4 before hosting Concord on Oct. 7. The Hilltoppers then visit West Virginia Wesleyan on Oct. 11 and return home to face Frostburg State on Oct. 14.
The final stretch of the regular season includes road matches at Davis & Elkins on Oct. 18 and Point Park on Oct. 21 before West Liberty hosts rival Fairmont State on Oct. 25. The regular season concludes on Oct. 28 when the Hilltoppers welcome Wheeling to the hilltop for a night match under the lights. Eight home matches are scheduled at the West Family Athletic Complex, all against Mountain East Conference opponents. The home slate includes Point Park, Davis & Elkins, Shawnee State, Glenville State, Concord, Frostburg State, Fairmont State and Wheeling.
With a veteran head coach and a program that has become a consistent postseason contender, West Liberty will look to build on its recent success and secure a fourth consecutive MEC Tournament appearance in 2026.
