West Liberty, W.Va. - Junior Ethan Furbee of the West Liberty University men's track & field team has been named this week's Hilltopper of the Week following another outstanding performance in the high jump.
The Byesville, Ohio native captured first place at the UC Golden Eagle Invitational, clearing 1.90 meters to lead the field and help pace a strong overall showing for the Hilltoppers.
Furbee has been remarkably consistent throughout the season, turning in back-to-back first-place finishes after also winning the high jump at the West Liberty Tim Weaver Invitational the previous week with the same 1.90-meter clearance. Earlier this year, he proved himself against the conference's best with a third-place finish at the Mountain East Conference Indoor Championships, again clearing 1.90 meters.
His ability to consistently perform at a high level in big meets has made him a key contributor for West Liberty in the field events.
With another victory and a strong body of work this season, Ethan Furbee earns Hilltopper of the Week honors.
