WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – West Liberty University graduate student Reese Burnside has been named this week's Hilltopper of the Week after a strong all-around performance at the Mountaineer Showcase on April 17.
The West Union, W.Va. native highlighted his day with a first-place finish in the pole vault, clearing 4.00 meters (13' 1.5") to take the event title.
Burnside showcased his versatility across multiple events, adding a runner-up finish in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.07. He also placed fourth in the 200-meter dash (23.27) and fifth in the long jump with a mark of 6.17 meters (20' 3").
A graduate student for the Hilltoppers, Burnside continues to be a key contributor with his ability to compete at a high level across sprints, hurdles, and field events.
