WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — Jordan Watters has been named West Liberty's Hilltopper of the Week following a dominant performance at the 2026 Mountain East Conference Wrestling Championship, held Saturday at the Waco Center on the campus of Glenville State University.

Competing at 165 pounds, Watters turned in the most productive tournament of any Hilltopper, scoring 18.5 team points to lead the way in West Liberty's march to its fourth MEC championship and first since 2023. The graduate student recorded two falls and a major decision, punctuating his weekend with a championship-match pin to secure the conference title.

Watters opened the tournament with a first-round fall before overpowering his semifinal opponent with a major decision. He closed his title run in emphatic fashion, ending the finals with a pin to seal individual gold and cap a perfect day on the mat.

A native of Imperial, Pa., and a graduate of West Allegheny High School, Watters' performance helped anchor a complete team effort that saw all 10 Hilltopper wrestlers earn All-MEC honors, including five individual champions.
