West Liberty Falls 5-2 at Daemen

ERIE, Pa. – The West Liberty University men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision at Daemen on February 14 at the Miller Tennis Center.

Daemen secured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.

At No. 1 doubles, Alex Lumanog and Lasse Mergens defeated Aidan Lucas and Barney Cowan, 6-0.
At No. 2 doubles, Rohan Chitonand and Lucas Garcia topped Ethan Shepard and Ignacio Giurfa, 6-0.

West Liberty picked up a win at No. 3 doubles, where Pablo Zubieta and Chris Burns defeated Mitch Pollack and Riley Fitzgerald, 6-4.

Trailing 1-0 entering singles, the Hilltoppers battled but Daemen controlled the top of the lineup.

At No. 1 singles, Alex Lumanog defeated Pablo Zubieta, 6-0, 6-3.
At No. 2 singles, Rohan Chitonand topped Ignacio Giurfa, 6-4, 6-1.
At No. 3 singles, Lasse Mergens defeated Ethan Shepard in three sets, 6-2, 1-6, 6-3.
At No. 4 singles, Mitch Pollack edged Barney Cowan in a tight three-set match, 6-3, 6-7, 13-11.

West Liberty earned its two team points in the final two singles flights.

At No. 5 singles, Chris Burns defeated Vondin Henderson 7-6, 6-1.
At No. 6 singles, Aiden Lucas downed Riley Fitzgerald to earn a three-set victory 3-6, 6-3, 10-8

Daemen secured the overall 5-2 team win.
