WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — West Liberty University women's soccer sophomore forward
Frida Lundberg has been named Hilltopper of the Week after scoring in back-to-back matches against Concord and West Virginia Wesleyan.
Lundberg, a 5-foot-7 forward from Gävle, Sweden, provided a late scoring spark in both matches, finding the back of the net on Oct. 7 against Concord and again Oct. 11 at West Virginia Wesleyan.
Against Concord, Lundberg scored in the 87th minute to cap a strong attacking effort late in the match. She followed that performance with another goal Sunday, converting in the 74th minute to provide a second-half breakthrough for the Hilltoppers.
The sophomore's ability to find scoring opportunities late in matches highlighted her offensive impact throughout the week. Lundberg recorded two goals on five shots across the two contests, putting two attempts on goal.
A product of Vasaskolan in Sweden, Lundberg and the Hilltoppers host Frostburg State Wednesday at the West Family Athletic Complex.
