WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — West Liberty sophomore Logan Davis has been named this week's Hilltopper of the Week after an impressive performance at the NWCA Division II National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Competing at 125 pounds, Davis posted a 3–1 record over two days of elite national competition. After dropping his opening bout on day one, the New Cumberland, W.Va. native responded in dominant fashion, earning a 12–1 major decision over Jacob Fitzpatrick of Minnesota State.
Davis continued his strong run on day two, picking up a 16–9 decision against Elijah Almarinez (Maryville) before closing the tournament with a clutch 4–1 sudden-victory win over Jackson Heaston (Upper Iowa).
A graduate of Oak Glen High School, Davis and his teammates return to the mat on Friday when the Hilltoppers travel to Frostburg State for a Mountain East Conference dual.
