WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – West Liberty University sophomore Joshua Gill has been selected as the Men's Hilltopper of the Week after a dominant performance at the Bethany Invitational.
Gill clocked a winning time of 26:37.0 in the 8K race to secure the individual title, leading the Hilltoppers to the team championship with just 22 points. His strong run paced a powerful Black and Gold lineup that also swept the next two spots, with seniors Jasper Brown and Francis Toohey finishing second and third.
Now in just his second meet of the season, Gill has quickly established himself as one of West Liberty's top runners, showcasing both consistency and front-running ability.
Behind Gill's victory, the Hilltoppers dominated the field with a perfect 5-0 dual meet record, outpacing Saint Vincent, Franciscan, Lawrence Tech, Wheeling, and Waynesburg.
Gill and the Hilltoppers return to action on October 4 at the Louisville Invitational, where they'll look to continue their early-season momentum.
