WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's and women's tennis teams are back in action this weekend, hitting the road for a pair of matches on Friday and Saturday.
On Friday, the Hilltoppers will travel to Davis & Elkins College for a rematch against the Senators. Earlier this season, both teams fell to D&E — the men dropped a 7-0 decision, while the women came up short, 5-2.
Saturday brings a new challenge as the teams head to Charleston to take on the Golden Eagles for the first time this season.
Leading the way for West Liberty are standout performers Evelina Martirosyan and Omolade Aderemi. The duo continues to shine on the court, building impressive records throughout the season. In their most recent outing against West Virginia Wesleyan, Martirosyan extended her undefeated run at No. 1 singles to 10-0, cruising past Dominique Jansen with a 6-2, 6-1 win. Aderemi followed with a strong showing at No. 2 singles, improving to 9-1 on the year after a 6-1, 7-6 victory over Sneha Sundaraneedi.
Following this weekend's matchups, the Hilltoppers will wrap up the regular season on Tuesday with a road trip to Fairmont State.
