Bluefield, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's tennis team posted a 1-1 record on Saturday, securing a dominant 4-0 victory over Elizabeth City State before falling in a tightly contested 4-3 match against Bluefield State. The WLU men's team faced a tough challenge, falling 7-0 to Bluefield State in their lone match of the day.

Evelina Martirosyan continued her stellar season, improving to 8-0 in No. 1 singles with a pair of straight-set victories. She defeated Bluefield State's Adriana Toroba 6-3, 6-0 and dominated Reichel Freytes of Elizabeth City 6-1, 6-0.
Omolade Aderemi suffered her first loss of the season, falling 6-4, 3-10 to Bluefield State's Ekin Ozmen. However, she rebounded with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Elizabeth City's Marley Renner, bringing her season record to 7-1.
