West Liberty, W.Va. - The Open Mat released their final rankings for the 2024-25 NCAA Division II season Wednesday and the Hilltoppers secured the No. 10 spot in the tournament team rankings and No. 13 in the dual rankings.
Ty McGeary Leads the Way
One of the standout performances of the season came from Ty McGeary, who claimed the No. 1 ranking at 184 pounds. McGeary, a three-time national champion at 184 lbs. and four-time All-American, delivered dominant performances throughout the season by going 33
Other Ranked Hilltoppers
Joining McGeary in the rankings were Khyvon Grace and James Armstrong Jr., who both made significant contributions to the Hilltoppers' success. Grace was the runner up at 141 pounds at the NCAA National Championship making him a two-time All-American.Â
At 133 pounds, Armstrong Jr., only a freshman, claimed the No. 13 ranking after winning his weight class at the regional tournament and qualifying for the national tournament, finishing his freshman year at 29-11.Â
