LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The West Liberty University women's cross country team faced top regional and Division I competition at the Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday morning at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park. Senior Lacey Dimit paced the Hilltoppers with a time of 24:11.4 over the 6-kilometer course, finishing 132nd in the deep Blue Division field.
Freshman Lexi Wynn was next across the line for West Liberty, clocking 24:18.2 for 143rd place. The duo helped the Hilltoppers gain valuable experience against a large and competitive field that featured runners from NCAA Division I, II, and III programs.
The Louisville Classic, known for its fast course and deep competition, served as a strong midseason test for the Hilltoppers ahead of the stretch run toward the Mountain East Conference Championships later this month.
West Liberty will return to action in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational next Saturday.
