WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — Senior forward Maya Taggart has been named this week's Hilltopper of the Week after a standout performance that powered the West Liberty University women's soccer team to a dominant road victory.

The Wheeling, W.Va., native delivered a hat trick in Sunday's 9–0 win at Salem, recording three goals and six total points — the best single-game offensive output of her Hilltopper career. Taggart was active from the opening whistle, creating constant pressure in the attacking third and converting three of her seven shots on goal to help seal the lopsided win.

For the week, Taggart started both matches and tallied three goals on nine total shots (six on target), including a strong showing against Frostburg State earlier in the week. On the season, she has appeared in 13 matches with 12 starts, totaling five goals and two assists for 12 points, while leading the team with 22 shots on goal.

A graduate of Wheeling Park High School, Taggart has been a steady presence in the Hilltopper attack throughout her career and continues to provide senior leadership both on and off the field. Her energy, finishing ability, and consistency make her one of the key offensive weapons in West Liberty's lineup.

Taggart and the Hilltoppers return to action Wednesday at 11 a.m. as they visit Point Park.
