Wheeling, W.Va. – The 2023-24 regular season came to a close on Tuesday afternoon for the West Liberty University men's golf team at the Atlantic/East Regional Preview as their second round score of 327 (+43) brought their 36-hole total to 636 (+68) for 15
th place in the 26-team field. The Hilltoppers finished tenth among the 17 participating teams from the Atlantic Region. Leading the way for WLU was
Awethu Mkhwanazi and
Bo Orecchio who turned in a pair of top-50 finishes in the 130 player field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Carding the lowest round score of the day and making the biggest move up the players leaderboard by West Liberty was Awethu Mkhwanazi who turned in a 77 (+6) on Tuesday, for a 156 (+14) 36-hole total for a tie for 37th place. He scored par or better on 12 of the 18 holes on the day, including a pair of birdies.
- Moving three spots up the players leaderboard was Bo Orecchio who notched a second round score of 80 (+9) and a 2-round total of 158 (+16) for a tie for 47th place. He scored par on ten of the 18 holes on the Jones Course during the day.
- Derek Graham ended the tournament with the third best 36-hole score among Hilltopper golfers as he carded a second round tally of 87 (+16) for a total of 161 (+19) and a tie for 66th place. He recorded scores of par or better on eight holes during the day, including a birdie on hole 15.
- Just one shot behind Graham with a total score of 162 (+20) for a tie for 75th place was Noah Seivertson who carded an 84 (+13) on day two. He recorded scores of par on ten of the 18 holes played on the Jones Course during Tuesday.
- Rounding out the West Liberty lineup was Ethan Cook who shot an 86 (+15) in the second round to bring his 36-hole total to 167 (+25) for a tie for 99th place. He recorded scores of par on five of the 18 holes played on day two at the Atlantic/East Regional Preview.
