West Liberty, W.Va. -  The West Liberty University men's wrestling team was dominant in their first home dual of the season defeating Mountain East Conference foe Fairmont State 43-3,    the Toppers are now 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the MEC in dual matches. 

The Hilltoppers opened the night with No. 9 ranked Logan Davis at 125 lbs. defeating Camden Delwarte with a fall at 2:01. 

At 133 lbs. James Armstrong Jr. followed with a 9-7 overtime win over Nate Pelesky. 

At 141 lbs. We had a match up of top 15 wrestlers, the Hilltoppers Tony Wood ranked 15th and Fairmont State's Colton Stoneking ranked 13th. Stoneking would get a late third period take down for the 5-2 win. 

The Hilltoppers got back into the win column at 149 lbs. With Shawn Young picking up a major decision 15-6 over FSU's Shane Hatfield. 

At 157 lbs. Jordan Watters earned a tech fall (8:29) with a 17-1 win over the Falcons Jim Green. 

Alec Cook would push the Hilltoppers lead out to 24-3 with a fall at 5:17 of Fairmont State's Elijah Wellings-Osha. 

The Toppers Toby Abbott at 174 lbs. would earn a major decision 14-7 over FSU's Makiya Powell. 

Two-time NCAA champion Ty McGeary picked up the Toppers next win at 184 lbs. with a fall at 8:02 of FSU's Austin Gibson for a 34-3 WLU lead. 

197 lbs. Luke Justice would take a 6-2 decision over Tyler Wise of FSU. 

Parker Bentley would close the night at 285 lbs. with a fall over Justin Bishop at 4:58.

West Liberty is now 6-0 all-time against Fairmont State in duals.
