Hilltoppers Return to Non-Conference Play to Face Salem

West Liberty, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's soccer team will step out of Mountain East Conference play on Sunday afternoon to welcome Salem to the hilltop. The Hilltoppers and Tigers are scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff at the West Family Athletic Complex.

WEST LIBERTY STORYLINES
  • West Liberty enters Sunday's match with a record of 1-2-1 (1-1 MEC) on the season and is tied for second in the North Division of the Mountain East Conference standings with three points.
  • The Black & Gold won their last match on Wednesday, defeating Notre Dame 2-0, for the first-ever win in program history over the Falcons as well as coach Pete McMenemy's first career win.
  • The Hilltoppers have had five players score goals this season, as Amelia Compston leads the way with two and Mia Zecca, Holly Brighton, Asia Espiritu, and Morgan Kost have each found the back of the net once.
  • Four different WLU players have assisted on goals this season, as Compston has tallied a team-best of three while Zecca, Isabella Aperfine, and Abigail Barki each have one.
